The childrens haircutting experience can be an interesting one. As you may have heard or witnessed, there
are some children who are terrified of getting their hair cut. However, this can be dealt with effectively if
one first can understand the behavior of the child in this situation.
Indeed,
the reason they are terrified is pretty obvious in some ways, such as the fact that scissors are present. The other reason,
though may not be as obvious, and that is that the stylist is usually a stranger to the child which can also be scary.
As I've mentioned in my article "Babys First Haircut", using bubbles can partly
eliminate the childs anxiety. In fact, bubbles throughout the whole haircut can help the child be more comfortable
if they're a little nervous. However, in other cases, where the child is completely upset sometimes
this just doesn't work. In that case, getting the cut done fast is best.
Many
times, in the kid cut salons, stylist don't take the time to make sure that the toddler is comfortable
before the cut. This is usually because, these types of salons are similiar to "Supercuts" in that they
are trying to do a volume business. When the stylist does take the time, however, to give the child the needed attention,
the effects can be long lasting in that the haircutting experience will usually wind up being positive, haircut after haircut.
