Summer is the time we all look forward to, and the little ones seem to enjoy it the most. This of course raises the issue of what to do for haircuts. Indeed if you like the hair longer on the boys, why not try a boys regular. This is basically short with the scissors on the side and longer on the top. Blended into the top, of course. Also for the boys there are two other cuts I recommend they are the standard buzz, but instead of doing it all one length, have it blended maybe #2 attachment at the bottom and 3 into 4 as you go to the top of the head. The other haircut would be clipper on the sides 2, 3, or 4, and scissors on the top-as short as possible (the next best thing to a buzz cut).
For the girls shorter is always better. Either a short bob, up to the chin, or a stack in the back as short as a short bob in the front. The back is basically layered so that it stacks up. If you want to keep it long, regularly use clarifying shampoo to keep out the tangles. The clarifying is good if they're exposed to hard water or chlorine. It gets the deposits out. All in all, try to make it as comfortable for them as possible.
